Hot or Not?

I just saw this on the Huffington Post-

Lady Gaga, whom I totally have the hots for, put on a strap-on for a Q magazine cover photo.

What can I say, I love me some really out there people. Love that she did that. But I'm curious what the lesbian community will say. If they will embrace it or criticize it.

  1. Hmm...I don't see it. I've seen this picture a dozen times now, and to me it still looks like either a shadow or a wrinkle in her pants.

Doesn't seem very effective to me, especially if readers have to be told that's what it is, and even then can't see it.

  2. It's black. You know, on my husband's computer, which I'm on now, I can't really see it either. On my laptop, running Vista, it's clear as a bell.

Maybe you can see it better on the Huffington Post site, which I linked.

It's kind of weird though. What I can see is that it's kind of pointy and not penis shaped like a real strap-on and it looks satiny.

I'm sure there are better pics around or will be, but I stole this one from the Huffington post site.

  3. That thing looks more like a spear! Ouch!

  4. Right, it looks like velvet or something, which is why I thought it was just the light reflecting off a fold in the fabric of her pants. The first time I saw it was on my own laptop, and now I'm on my office PC. Same.

Would've been more obvious if it was glittery purple jelly. :)

And shaped like a "Real" monster penis! Or maybe even red. That would be striking. A large red penis. LOL

Eyre-- I know, what's up with the pointy look? Maybe it was to go with her pointy finger nails.

I'd love to see the real cover, not a pic. Maybe get a better idea of it.

I just love that she did that in general.

  6. It's cool and edgy and daring. But not hot. I don't think I'm a fan of strap-ons, in general. Maybe I'm just not familiar enough with the apparatus!

  7. I really don't see this as anything unusual. Pop stars have always set trends with unusual fashion statements.

I'm not sure why the lesbian community in particular would be offended by it.

They do look kind of funny. I guess if you're a lesbian it's the only way for vaginal sex with a partner.

I wouldn't think anyone would be, but you never know.

I've read that there's been lots of talk that Lady G is a hermaphrodite or that she packing both male and female genitals. And she's claimed it to be true but in a way that still leaves it ambiguous. I've seen pics of her with really tight leotards on and there's no way she's got a penis, or she hides it well if so.

I think she might like it that there is curiosity since she is a bit outrageous. Doing this kind of plays up to the gossip around her and uses it to her advantage.

  9. Oh, I think she's totally taking advantage of the attention and curiosity. Her career depends on it, doesn't it? The more outrageous, the better, some would say. The cover text likens her to Madonna who, in my mind, has been an amazing self promoter for many years. If Lady Gaga is taking her lessons from Madge, she will be around for along time.

As for the picture itself, it's a "not" for me. I think my reaction has more to do with the overall pointiness of her outfit than the presence of a strap-on. Which is also pointy, so yeah, ow!
